As a leading breeder of flowers and plants, the company unveiled 13 new varieties, showcased 74 existing ones, and presented over 130 prototype varieties—a total of 224 upright-form varieties were on display.

This annual showcase is a unique opportunity, carefully curated by Dümmen Orange’s breeders from the Netherlands and Japan branch members, catering specifically to the needs and potential of the Japanese market. The selection process rigorously considers the demands and circumstances unique to Japan.

Moreover, this year saw a continuation of the collaboration between specialists in chrysanthemum breeding and cultivation from both countries. Notably, Natascha Faessen, Dümmen Orange’s Global Product Manager Cut Flowers & Calla, actively participated in evaluations alongside the Japanese team. This engagement included insightful exchanges with growers, fostering a deeper understanding and interaction that exemplifies Dümmen Orange's commitment as a global company.

Natascha Faessen emphasized the value of combining expertise and experience from the Netherlands with insights into Japan's specific demands. She noted, ‘Our joint evaluations are pivotal in understanding what the Japanese market requires, further strengthening our pipeline and solidifying our connection with this market.’

The Pastela series welcomes new additions—Pastela Rosé, Pastela Sunny, and Pastela Favori—introducing captivating new colors to its lineup. Dümmen Orange has shown dedication towards enhancing and expanding this series, earning global acclaim for their achievements. Building upon the successes of the previous year, the promotional efforts in Japan have been amplified, prioritizing extensive media coverage and strategic campaign initiatives within the flower auction market.

North Star, an existing variety, impressed producers with its upright form appearance, reaffirmed its charm, and expanded demand through display panels at the Funeral Business Fair in June.
