Collaboration with Spanish colleagues strengthens APAC sales team
The APAC sales team strengthened its product knowledge during the Flower Trials in Spain
In March, our sales team members from Japan, India, Malaysia, and Vietnam visited Dümmen Orange in Spain. This site is one of Dümmen Orange’s production and breeding centers in Europe. The purpose of the trip was to enhance product and technical knowledge for the Asia Pacific sales team and select new and exciting series for the respective Asian markets.
The trial site was magnificently and professionally prepared by the team in Spain, and it provided a great opportunity to review a wide range of Dümmen Orange’s assortment, including Annuals, Lavandula, spring Perennials, Cut Carnation, Gerbera and Succulents.
“The meeting was organized to enhance the product knowledge of our team by visiting the trials,” says Josep Maria Padrosa Benet, Product Manager of Annuals, Perennials and Pot Plants. One highlight was a visit to Dümmen Orange In Vitro Laboratory in Spain. This lab is a critical success factor for reaching our APAC sales growth ambitions. “Spending time to learn together gave us a better knowledge in various product forms."
“Studying with breeders and Crop Experts was a great experience for the APAC team. We know a lot more about the breeding work and the direction to meet the product standards for Indian markets,” says Ram Deshpande, Business Development Manager of Dümmen Orange in India. “It is a good step to build team confidence, learn about selection processes and about making proposals of varieties and series to business partners, considering the market requirements, weather and our business partners’ infrastructure.”
“I am convinced of the strength of the genetics in our portfolio. The natural beauty of each assortment is unique individually and charming as a whole,” says Swee Lin Tan, Commercial Director of Australia and Southeast Asia. “Also, the opportunity to discuss and share with APAC team was invaluable. Armed with this knowledge, we are ready to reach out to customers.”
Dümmen Orange aims to become a leading breeder in floriculture by intimately understanding our Asian customers and developing innovative products and services that add sustainable value. Given this mission and its success of event, we will expand to include key accounts from across Asia in 2023.
