Journeying towards zero incidents
Barbara is leading initiatives to elevate Health and Safety standards across Africa. Quarterly meetings facilitate knowledge sharing and problem-solving, emphasizing risk assessments, training, and procedural adherence to mitigate incidents and instill a safety culture.

The results speak volumes
Uganda saw a notable decrease in injury rates, with an injury rate of 0.2 in 2023. However, Barbara stresses the broader sustainability perspective, highlighting the interconnectedness of Health and Safety with ESG principles—environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and governance.
She poses a critical question: "If we don’t care for the health and well-being of our employees and the community, what would the future look like for us all?"
